An investment strategy is essentially a plan that helps you to project your investment goals to achieve your financial objectives within a time frame taking into account your risks tolerence on the various types of investments. Each type of investment has its own risks and returns. The mutual funds is a type of investment, but it contains different types of stocks and bonds, which has different risks and returns you can invest in.

Investing like any other projects in life is full of uncertainties and the outcome depends on whether you have a strategy. In investing too, you need an investment strategy.

Do your research first on the various types of investments out there and their risks and returns profile. Your investment strategy should take into account your tolerance level of risks and returns.

Engage a financial planner to advise you if you are new to investments. They will help you to map out a financial strategy to achieve your investment goals that match your style and tolerance level, ultimatley achieving your financial goals.

Investing with a long term vision and investment strategy is necessary. where do you want to be 10, 15, 20 years from now? That will be the investing version of shooting for the stars. Your investment strategy should basically covers four basic pieces :

1. Be patient and learn to save and invest aggresively.
2. Establish a reserve account to act as an emergency buffer.
3. Do not put all your eggs in one basket. Diversify your investment portfilio.
4. Build a money invement cycle so that the money will make more money for you.
